This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is very well finished. Finished in Rio Red over red vinyl and striped cloth, the car was previously restored and the the work included many correctly date-coded components, including the optional 348 Super Turbo-Thrust engine with 3x2 induction. Factory literature didn’t show a four-speed as available until the 1959 model year, but as of February 1958, customers could order a four-speed manual transmission to replace the factory three-speed, although the gearbox had to be dealer installed. The transmission in this Chevy Impala is date correct, though it’s uncertain when the transmission was installed in the car.
