We are pleased to offer this 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. This FJ underwent a frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration a few years ago. Paint and body present to a show-quality standard; panels are very straight and the finish is slick throughout. Custom canvas top with roll up sides and rear ambulance doors. Very clean underside and engine compartment with no trace of rust or prior repair. Frame has been powder coated. We like the interior design details of these early FJs, with steel doors and dash instead of upholstered padding. Front split bench and rear jump seats are upholstered in a very attractive shade of pumpkin. Floors are crisp and clean and the interior paint finish is just as good as the exterior. Lights and gauges are working as they should. Under the hood is Toyota’s 3.9 liter “F155” inline six mated to a three-speed manual transmission. All drivetrain components were rebuilt when this truck was restored — engine, transmission, transfer case, axles, complete brake system, steering and suspension, exhaust, etc — although these early FJs are decidedly tractor-like in their driving dynamics, this one runs and drives as it should.
