A wonderful example of a stylish and robust classic SUV, which has recently benefited from a frame-off restoration and has been enhanced with a host of well-considered modifications.
Power comes from a rebuilt 4.9-liter small-block Bronco V8, which drives all four wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
The odometer currently shows 4,848 miles, which is the distance the vehicle has covered since its complete overhaul.
This Bronco, which started life as a first-generation half-cab pickup, has now been completely rebuilt and fitted with a black convertible soft top. The cabin is finished in gloss black and trimmed in black leather.
It rides on a set of 17-inch Fuel Hostage alloy wheels, finished in matte black and fitted with BF Goodrich tires.
The exterior now features a winch, Smittybilt side steps, a fiberglass hood, steel bumpers, various bumper-mounted spotlights, and a reversing camera that displays on the rearview mirror screen.
The engine has been upgraded with Ford GT40 headers and is fitted with a CPP brake booster. It has suspension components from Wild Horses, a specialist in early Broncos.
Inside, a modern Clarion Bluetooth stereo system with Pandora and Spotify functionality has been installed, along with a custom subwoofer under the rear seats. The car is also equipped with air conditioning.
There are power door locks and a new anti-theft security system.
The entire interior floor, including the cargo area, has been protected with a Rhino spray-on liner, which has been carpeted in the front cabin.
It is accompanied by documentation of its restoration and maintenance.
There is no known body damage. The repainted black paintwork is in excellent condition, although the seller notes that the driver’s and passenger’s doors have slightly different shades of black.
A few minor scratches can be seen on the aftermarket bumpers, although these could easily be powder-coated back to a pristine condition in the future.
Inside, the black leather seats are in excellent condition, with no significant wear. The carpeting is also in very good condition.
There is some slight bubbling visible on the sides of the center armrest.
Early in the build process, there was an issue with the starter motor, so a bypass switch for the transmission safety interlock was installed to bypass the safety mechanism and operate the starter.
