This example is believed to be one of 1,070 Challenger R/T convertibles produced for 1970. it is included in the 1970 Hamtramck Registry as it was built at Dodge Main, and it is further documented by Mopar expert Galen Govier as one of 19 R/T convertibles built with the 335 horsepower, four-barrel-carbureted 383-cubic-inch Magnum V-8 paired to a three-speed manual transmission. The car has since had the transmission upgraded to a four-speed manual with pistol grip shifter.
This Challenger left the factory finished in the High-Impact paint code of FJ5 Sublime, with the longitudinal sport stripe-deleted, a white convertible power top, white bucket seat interior with black carpet, Rallye instrument cluster, tachometer, AM radio, and chrome-tipped dual exhaust. Today white letter Firehawk Indy 500 tires are fitted on Magnum 500 wheels adding to the period-correct appearance, and the jack and spare tire are included. Finished in one of Mopar’s legendary High-Impact colors, this is one muscle car that is sure to draw attention.
