We are pleased to offer this 1969 Pontiac GTO Convertible, a remarkably correct and well-documented car with service records and ownership history to new. Presented in its original colors of Liberty Blue over Ivory White, this is well-optioned example with power steering, power disc brakes and factory air conditioning. Correct to its original specification aside from a transmission swap from the original automatic to a more desirable four-speed manual. Numbers-matching 400 cubic inch V8. Highlights of recent service work include a full steering, suspension and brake system overhaul (new power steering pump, steering gearbox, rag joint, tie rod ends, all new bushings, repacked wheel bearings, ball joints and Bilstein shocks, new brake lines and hoses, master cylinder and booster plus a full brake job). The chassis feels great — steering is tight, brakes stop the car confidently and there are no squeaks or rattles over bumps. The original numbers-matching engine was removed and re-sealed, then fitted with ram-air high output exhaust manifolds, a new (but correct) Rochester carb and a new engine wiring harness (plus an aluminum radiator). A correct Muncie four-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter and all new linkages was professionally installed — including the fully-functional reverse shift interlock in the steering column. The rear axle internals were renewed with 3.31 limited slip gears (better suited to the four speed). Stacks of receipts from Ames and other suppliers for this recent work also accompany the sale.
