The history of this Toyota 800 Sports begins in the late 1970s to early 1980s when it was brought to Ramstein Air Base by US soldiers, likely from Okinawa. In the late 1980s, a German employee discovered the vehicle in a warehouse, where it was in very poor condition and most parts were missing. The Toyota changed hands several times until 2002, but no one dared to take on the complex restoration and procurement of spare parts.
