This 1966 Plymouth Satellite was designed to be cheap fun when it was new, and a lot of hot rodders back then raced, in drag race competition and on the street, a big block engine in these cars that was a take-no-prisoners piece with an attitude that made these cars so successful in the glory years of the muscle car era. Today they’re red-hot collector’s items. Ours has had a new powerplant added, a 440 cubic inch dual-quad modified engine, TorqueFlite tranny, and H.D. rear end, plus mag wheels, a hood scoop, and Plymouth callouts on the sides to make this a NHRA Super Stock looking period muscle car. When you lift the hood, you can’t help but notice how period correct, and mean, this engine and compartment looks! It has a rebuilt and much modified 1969 440 cubic-inch Six-Pack V8 engine upgrade that has a lot of go-fast goodies, like the twin dual-quad Edelbrock AVS four-barrel carburetors with twin open air cleaners, an aluminum intake, MSD ignition, long tube headers and 3 ½” dual exhaust with electric cut outs, aluminum finned MOPAR valve covers, cam and kit, power steering and brakes, and performance spark plug wires. The big block V8 feeds a stout Torqueflite A727 three-speed automatic transmission with a shift kit and a 2200 rpm stall converter, and it also has an aluminum water pump, Champion radiator. The front end was rebuilt with disc brakes on the front, KYB shocks, GTX rear springs, and 3:50 gear in the Sure-Grip rear end. It rides on great-looking polished Torque Thrust type 5-spoke wheels and black sidewall tires. The all black twin bucket seat and matching rear seat interior is redone in an original style from Legendary Interiors so that everything from the upholstery to the carpeting feels original and clean. It has a center console, chrome automatic floor shift, black factory steering wheel, great black dash with factory gauges, Autometer accessory gauges, matching door panels and headliner, and pushbutton radio, all make for an ideal way to experience a premium and powerful classic Plymouth. Our Plymouth has the look exactly how you want of a vintage race car inspired Mopar. It has its classic and correct fiberglass scooped MOPAR racing hood, sharp white paint job that shows off this Satellite’s sharp-edged styling, great chrome bumpers, Plymouth call outs on the sides, full-length trim, and ornate grille means this 66 is a cool done classic, right down to the details.
