The 389ci V8 was equipped from the factory with Tri-Power induction consisting of three two-barrel Rochester carburetors under individual chrome air cleaners. Output was quoted at 360 horsepower with 424 lb-ft of torque when new. A four-speed manual transmission routes power to a Saf-T-Track limited-slip differential with a 3.56:1 final drive ratio.
