Design Updates for 1958
For 1958, Cadillac introduced several key updates. The front grille became wider and featured multiple round bullets at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical members. Additionally, dual headlamps became standard, giving the car a more distinctive look. Small chrome fins adorned the front fenders, while new bumper guards were placed closer to the parking lamps.
Tailfins and Side Details
The tailfins on the 1958 Series 62 were more subtle than those of earlier models, and the word “Cadillac” appeared in block letters on the fin’s top edge. The side of the car showcased five longer horizontal wind splits ahead of the rear wheel openings, along with horizontal front fender moldings. The convertibles featured decorative lower rocker moldings that flowed smoothly into the polished wheel lip moldings.
