The landmark first generation encompassed pickups, panel vans, and cab and cowl chassis ranging from light- to heavy-duty, with designations F-1 through F-8. All variants used a new “Million-Dollar Cab,” roomier and more comfortable than previous offerings, which was further enhanced and dubbed the “Five-Star Cab” for the last two years of production, from 1951 to 1952. Power came from flathead six- and eight-cylinder engines with three-, four-, and five-speed transmissions.
This F-1 from the final model year of the first generation has been restored to a high standard and represents a compelling opportunity for fans of the legendary pickup who appreciate originality. Finished from the factory in Sandpiper Beige, it now wears Vermillion paint—a Ford factory color, correct for the model year—over a tidy interior with red piping. The cabin features a deluxe dash with factory-style white-faced gauges, an AM radio, and a heater. A non-factory three-spoke steering wheel has been installed but can be easily replaced with the included original-style steering wheel to fully restore the period look.
