General model history:
The 1954/55 Tojeiro Halton Aston represents a fascinating era in British racing car construction in the 1950s. Developed by renowned designer John Tojeiro, who later created the chassis for the legendary AC Ace – and thus indirectly the Shelby Cobra – this vehicle was custom-built for a group of Royal Air Force pilots.
The car was built for the Halton Stable Racing Club, an association of motorsport enthusiasts from the RAF who participated in national races with great enthusiasm. The chassis follows Tojeiro’s proven concept: a lightweight, torsion-resistant tubular frame with a sporty low centre of gravity and aerodynamic aluminium bodywork.
