If you are looking for a sweet iconic Mercury street rod, then the 1950 Mercury 2-Door will make you a very cool classic and a solid investment. The heart of this rod is a 255 cubic inch Ford Flathead V8. Ford’s flathead V8 is always a great sight to see and everything looks quite as nice as it was from the factory with the painted block to those dual hoses from the radiator doing a 90-degree turn into the motor and back to the column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Everything has been redone and refinished and retains most of the engine parts on this flathead that it came with from the carb, heads, black air cleaner assembly, to the factory cast iron exhaust manifolds and the neatly finished, painted, and detailed engine compartment, this is done right. And when people do peek inside, they will be impressed. The interior has had the recent restoration back to the stock look also with its grey tweed split front bench seat and matching rear passenger seat. You’ll love the vintage look with the factory stock steering wheel, art deco dash that has everything from the proper heater controls to the AM radio, matching door panels, headliner, and carpeting. The first thing you notice on this gorgeous Merc is the vivid black paint job that is mirror finished and a mile deep. The body panels fit well and it has that 1950 Mercury legendary style. There are a ton of chrome on the car from the dual mirrors, great chrome grill, massive headlights, elegant chrome front and rear bumpers, with good glass and the iconic hood ornament plus the rear lower fender covers. It rides on wide whitewalls steel wheels and Mercury wheel covers to give it that correct period factory look and stance that the 50 Merc is known for.
